Happy Saturday All!

There will be some big changes coming up on my blog. You will see a new look, you will see some added features. It may take me some time to get everything in order so bear with me. I’ve finally made the big step to go self hosted. I decided to not have two separate websites (one for my blog, one for my business) and combine them. So for now when you go to http://www.sandspringchesapeakes.com you will not be going to my website you will be directed to my wordpress blog. When you go to http://www.sandspringchesapeakes.wordpress.com you will be directed to my new blog site and my own name of http://www.sandspringchesapeakes.com. If only I had about a week of free time so I can set it all up. I had a ton of information and pictures on my website and I’m feeling like a part of me is missing now. I often got comments from people looking for a Chesapeake puppy that they found my website very helpful and one of the best ones they visited so I hope I can recreate that in my blog setting.

Here are a couple pictures of Norman and Glory having fun at the pond. This was when Glory was about 4 months old.

Thank you grandpa angel Norman for watching over me last Friday night as I was about to see the light and you woke mom up in time to save me. I didn’t want to come visit you or red girl yet. Maybe when I’m like 14 or something I will come see you but not now. From now I will talk to you from right here.

When Norman was near any water of course he was in it, he loved the water. He also loved to stroll around the banks and look for sticks and tree roots, he would find them and then either pick up the stick and bring it to you to throw or he would grab hold of the tree root and pull until he broke it off so he could bring it to you to throw. All he had on his mind was what he could get to bring you to throw. He loved to retrieve!

More fun at the lake photos today. Norman and Nellie playing, ok so Norman is trying to play and Nellie is being a bully and stealing his toys right out of his mouth. Norman had the personality that if Nellie tried to take them he just let her have them. He was a gentle soul that way, but don’t try and do that with his ducks! A toy no big deal it’s not that important but a duck is a whole another story.

Since we are in the middle of summer which means hot temperatures outside I thought I would post up some photos of Norman enjoying his time at the lake. He loved to jump off the pier, he had been doing it since he was a young boy. We never did dock diving at sanctioned events only at the lake.

2 Years of Nothing But Norman #104

Happy Saturday All!!

Project16 - Copy - Copy - Copy - Copy

2 years ago today I started Nothing But Norman. I wanted a day dedicated to him as a month prior he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma and I knew he wouldn’t be with me for very long. I wanted a way to remember him, relive our memories and have a place I could go to when all I wanted was Norman. I was lucky to have had Norman with me for 13 years of his life. Those were 13 wonderful years where many memories were made. Thank you for letting me share our memories with you each week. I truly feel this has helped the grieving process and I feel even closer to him.

The pictures for today were taken 2 years ago when we took a ride to Lake Puckaway. During the 5 months Norman was with us after his diagnosis I had a bucket list for him, the bucket list was a list of places to revisit with Norman that were places we enjoyed when he was younger. He loved lake Puckaway. It was there he learned to ride in a boat, swim, catch fish, icefish but most of all it was a place he got to duck hunt which was his favorite past time in the fall.

This weekend has been special in another way, Glory delivered Normans great grand children. My hopes is that one day the little female we keep will be bred to Norman and I will have another son or daughter straight from my soulmate. Today was special and sad all at the same time. We were blessed with 9 beautiful little burr heads. 6 females and 3 males. We are sad because one of the puppies didn’t make it, she is now  an angel watching down on this litter sending them love and strength to become some really special pups to some really special people.

I lit Norman’s candle to show the little one it’s way.

She is buried next to Norman and his flower.

New life bloomed today.

Suellen Appellof was the winner of the contest. She guess correctly (not including the one that passed) Congrats a prezzie will be on it’s way.

Last weekend on Fathers Day you might of seen my facebook pictures if your my friend on facebook, if your not my friend you can do so my searching for JoAnn Stancer (I think there is only one of me so easy to find). Since it was Fathers Day and Norman was a father to Nellie and Gambler I thought it would be nice to finally spread some of his ashes in my flower garden next to “his” blanket flower. I haven’t spread any of Norman’s ashes at my house since he has been gone. It’s nice to have him in my garden now. When I look at the flower I see Norman.

Gambler and Nellie, Norman’s kids. Norman is in the little cup.

Dad is that you?

Hi dad! It’s nice to see you again.

Dad is with us again.

Norman in is resting spot in my garden.

My friend Teri gave me a nice garden stake to put in my garden where I would put Norman’s ashes so I would never forget where he was. I put out the stake for the first time after I spread Norman’s ashes. What a lovely addition to my garden.

PSI’s Take Your Dog To Work Day June 26th 2015

Nurse Glory helping out at work today. (ok you got me this was a photo from last year, she isn’t this small right now)

Yes yes I know today isn’t June 26th, 2015 tomorrow is but it’s today that I’m taking my dog to work so I’m participating in PSI’s Take Your Dog To Work Day early. PSI stands for Pet Sitters International.

Taken from their website.

Founded by pet-sitting industry pioneer and author of Pet Sitting for Profit Patti J. Moran, Pet Sitters International (PSI) is the world’s largest, most-trusted educational association for professional pet sitters.

PSI’s 2015 Take Your Dog To Work Day®
History & F.A.Q.s

  • TYDTWDay® was first celebrated in 1999. This year marks the 17th annual event.
  • It was created by Pet Sitters International (PSI) to celebrate the great companions dogs make and promote their adoptions.
  • The event encourages employers to experience the joys of pets in the workplace for one day to support their local pet community.
  • TYDTWDay is an annual event and is always celebrated on the Friday following Father’s Day.
  • It also accommodates cat lovers (and other pets) and those who cannot participate on TYDTWDay. The entire week leading up to the event, June 22-26, is Take Your Pet To Work Week™.
  • Event creator PSI is the world’s largest educational association for professional pet sitters. For any day pets can’t be at work, pet owners can search PSI’s Official Pet Sitter Locator free-ofcharge to find a local professional pet sitter.
  • PSI feels that through the events, non-pet owners are able to witness the special bond their coworkers have with their pets firsthand and be encouraged to adopt a new best friend of their own.
  • An estimated 300 businesses participated in the inaugural celebration of TYDTWDay. Since that time, America’s love affair with pets and interest in TYDTWDay has grown to an all-time high.
  • PSI does not track the day’s participation rates because companies are not required to register in order to participate. However, the association’s tracking tools indicate that overall involvement around the event grows each year, with hundreds of thousands of visitors exploring takeyourdog.com each year.
  • You can follow TYDTWDay on Facebook and Twitter.

I am lucky that I work in a Veterinary Clinic so I get to take my dog(s) to work with me when they aren’t sick or when they are sick they get to come to work with me instead of me having to take off work from another job (like I would ever work at a different job) to take my dog to the vet. Today I am bringing Glory to work with me to have her examined and make sure she is right on track with her pregnancy. I really want to know how much she weighs and possibly have a xray taken to see if we can see and skeletons to count to know how many puppies she might be having. Now don’t be getting all excited that you might be knowing how many puppies she will be having. I’m saving that information for a later date. Coming up there will be a contest on how many puppies Glory and Thunder from 2browndawgs will be having and how many of each sex so stay tuned!

Norman was a great helper at work when he got to go.

Norman was like the Walmart Greeter he would read the news to the people waiting in the waiting room.

So grab your dog and take your dog to work day tomorrow!
