Who is Glory’s Valentine~Thursday Barks And Bytes

The day has come to find out who Glory chose as her Valentine and her boyfriend for her breeding this coming May/June.

And the lucky bachelor is………………………………..

Thunder from 2browndawgs blog which also happens to be one of the hosts for today’s blog hop is the lucky guy. When Glory comes into season which should be in May or June of this year she will be meeting up with Thunder to try and make some poopy puppies. Updates will be here on my blog and on 2browndawgs blog. I want to thank bachelors Gambler and Easy for being such great sports, this week couldn’t have happened without you too. Maybe one day Glory will cross the pond and hook up with Easy for some….Chesapeakeraner or the Weima-bay-retriever. If you don’t know Easy he is such a stitch so hop on over and give him a visit.

Jackie over at Pooch Smooches hit the nail on the head and was the closest on her guess: Ooooo, tough decision Glory! 87 kisses and pate sounds hard to pass up. Not so sure about the “easy riding” though…. Hmmm. Maybe Thunder. (Aren’t you related to GMan??) If so, then definitely Thunder! 🙂

Glory is related to Gman but it isn’t close so one day if I feel that is what I would like to do it could happen but for now it’s Thunder from down under all the way.

Glory is as sweet as they come. Her calm, friendly disposition causes everyone to fall under her spell when they meet her. But don’t let that good-nature fool you – when it’s time to hunt, she’s locked and loaded! We couldn’t be happier with the drive and work ethic in our girl.
August 2013, she earned her AKC Junior Hunter title at 20 months of age and has 3 out of 4 passes for her Senior Hunter title. She has 3 AKC conformation points toward the 15 required for her champion title.
Glory also participates UKC performance and conformation events. She earned her Hunting Retriever title in August of 2014. Glory has her UKC conformation title and was the #6 Chesapeake in the 2012 Top Ten UKC dog and breed standings. As a result, she was invited to the Top Ten at the UKC Premier, where she was awarded the Award of Excellence and two Reserve Champion ribbons. 12/4/13 Glory became a certified Therapy Dog with Therapy Dogs Inc. She is currently visiting a Elementary School with children that have been diagnosed with EBD (Emotional Behavioral Disability). She is doing great at her new job. The fall of 2014 Glory received her Canine Good Citizen Title and American Temperament Test certificate as well as her Therapy Dog Novice title.

Thunder is everything you could want in a Chesapeake.  He is loyal with a sound temperament and always ready to hunt.  He has strong drive, correct conformation, and excellent movement. He is equally adept at hunting waterfowl and upland, (pheasant, grouse, woodcock).  He was owner trained and handled to his AKC Senior Hunter Title, UKC Seasoned Hunter Title, and his American Chesapeake Club Working Dog Qualified Certification.  He was also owner handled to his AKC Conformation Championship.  He took his first major from the 12-18 month class and finished his Championship at just over three years of age.  He also has his Canine Good Citizenship Title.

Since Glory and Thunder have proven records in both the hunting and showing arenas as well as proven pedigree’s with Dual Champions on Glory’s side, this breeding should produce puppies that excel in the field and show ring, as well as being wonderful family companions. Puppies will not be affected with any of the genetic diseases as DM, EIC, or PRA. We expect them to be structurally sound as a result of the great clearances from both parents.
