Tasty Tuesday~Brothers Complete Biscuit Review

I was contacted by Brothers Complete and asked if they could send me a care package to try out  a few of there products and write a review on them.

745X728_Home_Page-198.jpg

I jumped at the chance as I had never heard of them and I liked what I saw in there advertisement explaining the company. Clients that come into the clinic are often talking about using grain free food and treats as they feel their pets do better on them. Some clients animals have allergies so they feel to help out the allergies would be to feed a grain free product so I thought it would be nice to try out this company’s treats and have another source to refer clients to as well as myself.

My care package contained many different treats. Today I will review 3 of them which are:

This is what Brothers Complete says about all three treats:

Brothers Complete TURKEY BISCUIT TREATS are part of a growing line of treats that Brothers has formulated to help define and fulfill the increasing need and demand for nutritional excellence in dog food.

The Brothers Complete line of treats contain no grain, no white potato, no sweet potato, and no sugar in any form.

Brothers adds unique and substantial nutritional value to our treats by including our special blend of minerals, vitamins, and nutrients that have been carefully balanced in specific proportion to each other. This produces a treat that is nutritionally complete and balanced and sets a new standard of excellence in treats.

Being nutritionally complete and balanced means that Brothers treats will not create a nutrient imbalance in your dog, but will instead encourage and contribute to your dog’s optimal health and well being.

Brothers Complete Treats are formulated to compliment and work effectively in conjunction with all the Brothers Complete Advanced Allergy Formulas.

First the Sand Spring Gang tried the Venison Meal Biscuit Treats. I chose this to be the first one as we are avid hunters and we hunt venison and love the taste of it. Nellie has proven to love venison also as in the winter she will run off and munch on any deer she can find so maybe with these treats I can keep her from running off.

Gambler thinks these are the bomb! He wants them all for himself!

Next up for the taste test was the Turkey Meal Biscuit Treats:

Gambler loved the Turkey treats he learned a new trick with them. Hold the treat on your nose.

Finally they got to try the Buffalo Meal Biscuit Treats:

The bags come in 1# package for $11.99 or a 5# package (5, 1# packages) for $54.99. The treats are about a 1.5 inches long in the shape of a bone, they break easily so breaking these treats in thirds is no problem to give each one of my dogs a small treat. All three dogs loved all three flavors and give this company 4 paws up.

All Products purchased at http://www.BrothersComplete.com have a 45 day

100% customer satisfaction guarantee with a hassle free return policy.

  • Free UPS Ground shipping on orders of $40.00 or more to the 48 contiguous United States.
  • Orders under $40.00 going to one of the 48 contiguous United States will ship UPS Ground, but will incur a $5.95 shipping and handling fee.
  • Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii is available please put in your zip code on “View Cart” page to get shipping  quote.

They have a reward points and refer a friend program to collect points to use for future purchases. They also offer a Troop ID Discount which I thought was very nice: We offer a 5% site wide discount to active duty, veterans, retirees (someone who retired after 20+ years), military spouse and direct dependents.

Brothers Complete is a family owned and operated business with your pet’s needs in mind. I would defiantly buy these treats in the future.

I was compensated one bag of each flavor of treats for a honest review.

Monday Mischief~Review Mischief

This weekend I was setting up my photoshoot for a review on a brands treats when a friend of mine came in the driveway. I still had all the treats in my hands at that time. I was talking with my friend and suggested he come in and see the house as it was my taxidermy friend and he never saw the house with all his work in it. We walked up on the deck and I set my camera and the bags of treats on the table. We came inside he looked around and we talked when all of a sudden I heard a noise. I looked around the house and 2 dogs were in the house and one was missing…………

I then thought oh damn………GAMBLER!

I opened up the door and this is what I seen!

A ripped open bag of treats that were all gone.

A ripped open bag of treats that were all gone.

This is a reenactment, the treats were left on this table.

You shouldn't of forgotten me outside with all these yummy treats!

You shouldn’t of forgotten me outside with all these yummy treats!

After this mischief we started our photo shoot where we ended up with more mischief.

I had the dogs lined up for the next picture when John came driving down the road and pulled in the driveway. The dogs know the sound of my car so they all got nervous and started to move. When John pulled in the driveway they all busted and started to run towards the car, Gambler being the wise guy he is and not wanting to leave the treats behind grabbed the bag of treats in no time flat and ran towards the car.

Can't leave these nom nom's behind.

Can’t leave these nom nom’s behind.

Around the house and to the garage still holding my bag of treats.

I'm the smartest mischief maker of them all.

I’m the smartest mischief maker of them all.

Now time to stop the mischief and get on with the photo shoot.

Hop on over to SlimKitty and check out part 3 of MK’s life so far.

Nothing But Norman #44

Happy Saturday Everyone!

Project16 - Copy - Copy - Copy

Last Sunday Norman’s son Gambler was featured on Molly The Wally’s Share It Sunday blog post. If you missed it you can see it here. Since Gambler was featured this week I thought I would share when Norman was featured on November 18, 2012. Ironically this day is my Birthday so it was so fitting that Molly featured Norman my soulmate on that day.

Share It Sunday’, Guest Blog Sand Spring Chesapeakes!

Nominated by last week’s guest 2 Brown Dawgs Blog!

The Old Hunting Dog!

I have a young hunting dog, a adolescent hunting dog, a middle age hunting dog and I have one very special old hunting dog. My old hunting dog gave me my middle age hunting dog and my adolescent hunting dog. Without him I wouldn’t have my young hunting dog. I have a whole circle of hunting dogs that I am very proud of which wouldn’t have been possible without the old hunting dog.

I took the circle of hunting dogs (all 4 of them) pheasant hunting today. It was a bitter-sweet day and very emotional one. I get more and more emotional each time I take that old hunting dog out hunting as I know there won’t be many hunting days in the future. I started out with Norman and Glory. I figured that Grandpa could teach Glory some of his hunting tricks. So we were off the old hunting dog, the young hunting dog and I. Glory was her typical puppy self and ran amuck smelling everything and running through the marsh like she didn’t have a care in the world. I remembered back in the day when Norman was like that and how I wish there was a fountain of youth for that guy. I remember when he used to be the leader and I was the follower, I would follow where ever his nose would take us and it would always take us to a pheasant. Today I was the leader and he was the follower. His legs aren’t what they used to be and he tires very quickly so he follows along in my footsteps as it is easier to let me blaze the trail. If he cuts a track he then will go off on that scent and work it like he did when he was young. I realized that it doesn’t matter who is the leader and who is the follower as long as we are both out in the field doing what we love the most. I would say hunting is what we love the most but I think I enjoy the time we spend together and it is a bonus if we actually get a bird. We didn’t get any birds today but it was still a wonderful day because I was spending it with my furry friends. I could see Norman was getting tired so we walked back to the truck of course I was crying as we walked back to the truck because I was taking my hunting buddy back to the truck because he was getting tired. I put him in the front of the truck and got the adolescent and the middle age dogs out and off we went again in hopes to find a bird. As we were walking off the old hunting dog was barking to go with and it broke my heart to leave him behind. How was I suppose to shoot a bird with tears streaming down my face? Well I didn’t have to worry about that as the gang worked and worked but not a bird to be found. Again it’s not about the hunt but about the time spent with the fur kids. I wouldn’t trade that for anything. So even know it was a sad day it was a good day because that old hunting dog  is still with me ready to go out again one day soon.

You can see the whole post with pictures here.

I am now excited to share with you my Norman and Me song that is sung by Randy Barr. I put his song to a picture video of  Norman and I. I first found out about Randy on Talking-Dog’s blog. She featured her personalized song by Randy and shared with us his wonderful cause. You can see Sue’s girl Lucy’s video and song and read all about Randy’s cause here.

Canine Cancer Awareness:

Randy Barr has generously agreed to donate personalized songs to benefit CCA! Here’s a note from Randy:

Hi guys :) After talking with many friends about the donation process we’ve decided to do digital recordings of your personalized song for a donation of only $10 to thehttp://caninecancerawareness.org/
I will be going in the studio for some recordings so if you would like your own song for your dog please drop me a line :)
Also please specify if it’s a boy or girl dog too :)

I could just watch and listen to this over and over. Thank you Randy for making this song for me. I absolutely love it!

FitDog Friday~Attended A Training Seminar

This weeks FitDog exercise was attending a Bill Hillman retriever seminar and a couple of miscellaneous exercises. We were able to get our dog out that needed help and work it. I brought Glory and Gambler with me. Glory got to get out in front of the crowd and was helped with learning “swim by”. Gambler got out to just play. Saturday night Gambler got a Birthday duck so these are the pictures from then.

The Barks:
You will never guess who the Sand Spring gang finally got to meet??????????Give up????????????
We met and spent the weekend with non other than Linda from 2browndawgs and the host to Thursday Barks And Bytes Blog Hop. We also met her husband Jim and their youngest dog Freighter. Their breeder was traveling with them to so we got to met Cindy and Sonny (Freighter’s Sister). What a joy it was to finally put a face to a name and finally get to meet someone with the same love for their Chessies. We all attended The Bill Hillman seminar and then it was a gathering at my house for some water training, pizza, beer and some good stories.
I only took these 4 photos of Freighter and Jim.

Monday Mischief ~Slipper Fun

What kind of fun can you have with slippers and who do you think was having so much fun?

…………………

……………….

…………..

……….

…..

..

.

Once again while I was in the shower the mischief happened. I got out of the shower, went to grab my towel and it was gone. I already know who took it as Gambler is the only one that steals my towels and takes them into the bedroom to lay on them.

photo 4

This is what I saw when I found Gambler and my towel.

photo 2

Gambler got so excited when he saw me he jumped up on the bed and started to chew on the slipper on the bed.

photo 1

If there was a video right now you would hear him “rooing” as he really is proud of himself. He is proud that he has wrecked many slippers. Of course these are John’s slippers as he doesn’t put his up.

photo 3

I then look out the bedroom door and who do I see with the other slipper? Miss Glory but she wasn’t chewing her’s she was protecting it from Gambler the slipper wrecker.

I thought he would of grown out of the slipper destruction stage. I guess not!

Don’t forget to stop back tomorrow and wish Gambler a Happy 3rd Birthday and enter his giveaway for a handmade paracord collar. He will be giving three away.
