{This Moment}See Beautiful-Hunter

I am proud to be called a Hunter and see beauty in it each time I am out hunting.

Aldo Leopold

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Aldo Leopold (January 11, 1887 – April 21, 1948) was an American author, scientist, ecologist, forester, and environmentalist. He was a professor at the University of Wisconsin and is best known for his book A Sand County Almanac (1949), which has sold more than two million copies.

Leopold was influential in the development of modern environmental ethics and in the movement for wilderness conservation. His ethics of nature and wildlife preservation had a profound impact on the environmental movement, with his ecocentric or holistic ethics regarding land.[1] He emphasized biodiversity and ecology and was a founder of the science of wildlife management.[2]

“Our ability to perceive quality in nature begins, as in art, with the pretty. It expands through successive stages of the beautiful to values as yet uncaptured by language.”

“No matter how intently one studies the hundred little dramas of the woods and meadows, one can never learn all the salient facts about any one of them.”

“That land is a community is the basic concept of ecology, but that land is to be loved and respected is an extension of ethics.”

“The good life of any river may depend on the perception of its music; and the preservation of some music to perceive.”

It’s so nice to be out in nature and take in all the beauty. There are plants/shrubs/trees that you might not think are beautiful until you take a moment to step back and find the beauty in it. It will surprise you what they have to offer.

I see beauty in the wildlife.

“Out of the clouds I hear a faint bark, as of a faraway dog. It is strange how the world cocks its ear to that sound, wondering. Soon it is louder: the honk of geese, invisible, but coming on.

The flock emerges from the low clouds, a tattered banner of birds, dipping and rising, blown up and blown down, blown together and blown apart, but advancing, the wind wrestling lovingly with each winnowing wing. When the flock is a blur in the far sky I hear the last honk, sounding taps for summer.

It is warm behind the driftwood now, for the wind has gone with the geese. So would I–if I were the wind.”

I see beauty in my hunting buddy’s.

Without my husband or my Chesapeake’s I wouldn’t be out hunting and taking in all the beauty.

This video was shared on Facebook this week and it really sums up a hunter.
