I am behind the eight ball on knowing what days are for what posts until I see another blogger post them up. I so need to get a blogging calendar so I can keep this stuff straight. So even know stuff isn’t happening on the day it was intended I will talk about it now.

Yesterday was National Feral Cat Day. Click on the link and see what events are going on for National Feral Cat Day. This day goes along with what is happening all month long in October which is: 

I didn’t adopt a cat in October but I did adopt a feral cat in the end of May.

When MK was a feral cat out in the marsh.

MK this week after she was spayed. No more kitties for her. Helping out the pet population.

Since it is Adopt A Pet Month it is time for Tuesday’s Tails.

ABOUT RILEY

The person who found Riley had to give him up to Animal Services because she already had three dogs. She recognized his wonderful temperament while he was in her home. As she stated … all he wants is love. Riley followed her around her house and she would have kept him herself if it had been possible. This dear boy is quite the love and would be a great addition to any family!
His foster parent is Dusty R. The adoption fee for Riley is $130.

A volunteer will contact you as soon as possible.Click here to go to the online adoption formAll Kalamazoo Animal Rescue dogs & puppies are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Dogs have been heartworm tested and if appropriate (age and time of year) all dogs and puppies are given heartworm preventative. All are given medication to rid them of roundworms and checked and treated for fleas & ear mites, if needed. Dogs and puppies are given distemper vaccines and depending on how long the pet has been in foster care, additional distemper vaccine(s) may be necessary and the expense will be incurred by the adopter. Any canine over 4 months of age is brought current on the Rabies vaccine. Additional vet care may have been provided depending on the particular animal’s needs. Dogs are individually priced as above.Please note that we do not ship dogs and we cannot guarantee that a long trip to see a foster dog will result in an adoption or taking the dog home on that day.It is in the best interest of pooch and owner to enroll in an obedience class soon after adoption. After all, you have a lot to learn about your new friend. The Kalamazoo Dog Training Club offers a discount to owners with newly adopted dogs. Enroll before any behavior problems start – you won’t regret it!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month in helps to spread awareness and help raise money for the Susan G.  Komen fund there is a pretty cool t-shirt you can purchase. Some of the proceeds will be donated to the Susan G. Komen fund. All you need to do is go to The Pink Whistle Society and order your Glory-ous shirt. I like to read but don’t have much time. I found time to read . It was a short story about Ku’s life as a puppy in an Alaskan Puppy Mill and how he got rescued and adopted by an amazing woman. I couldn’t put the book down once I started and I shed many tears at how this puppy has grown into a beautiful adult dog and has overcome so many fears. So appropriate for Adopt A Pet Month. You can read Ku’s Haiku blog here. I gave this book a 5 star rating on Amazon. By buying Ku’s book you will help support animal rescue. How cool is that?
