A little of this and a little of that and everything in between…

I’m back from my little vacation in MI  at the 2013 UKC Premier. So sorry I am behind on reading your blogs, I will catch up. I did end up missing a few days as I was dead tired by the end of the week. I had a great time and my dogs especially Gambler did really well. Will continue to post up pictures and story’s as I get them done.

Marsh Kitty & Norman,

For all of my facebook friends you seen this post already. I’m reposting for my blogging followers who aren’t on facebook.

How little MK came into my life. (you all know that Gman found her and broke her leg) but you don’t know why she stayed. Wednesday morning 6/5/13 I got the bone biopsy results back on Norman that I had done on Monday the 3rd. Norman has hada slight limp for over 3 weeks and it wasn’t going away so I finally did the biopsy dreading the results. I heard the dreaded your dog has Osteosarcoma, which is bone cancer in his front right arm. While he was having his bone biopsy the doctor also found a tumor on his spleen. Now we don’t know if the tumor is cancerous or non cancerous it is there and still could cause a potential problem. A double wammie for Norman. So with this devastating news I took the dogs down to the creek for a swim to keep my mind off Norman. That’s when we came across the kittens and gman broke MK leg. Right then I knew that MK was sent to me for a reason, she has a broken leg that I can mend and Norman has a leg that I can not mend with all the will in my body. This little kitty was sent to me to help me with the goings on with Norman and will be my therapy kitty when the time comes for me to say goodbye to my best friend. Even know John hates cats and wants me to find a home for MK in my heart I can’t. I need to keep her. I truly believe in fate, the stars aligning, karma and everything happens for a reason. MK is my reason. Norman hates small critters and MK is determined to lay next to him when ever she can. She crawls all over him and even when he is doing his elvis growl she just keeps it up. I think she knows he is hurting and trying to make him feel better, at least she is making me feel better showing me how sweet she is on him. I don’t know how much time I have left with my best friend, I may have a day, a week, a month I don’t know. All I know is that I will have MK forever! If you see many pictures posted of Norman now you will know why, I don’t know how many more times I will get a picture of him so bear with me.

Hey Mom whatcha doing in here?

While Gambler and Glory were running around outside Nellie was out there with them, she was gone for the longest time and I had no idea where she was. I just figured she was down by the pond or found something else to eat. I was in the house and I hear this weird barking, I go and follow the barking and it leads me to the chicken/duck pen where Nellie was trapped inside.

I didn’t have to worry about her killing the chickens or ducks, she doesn’t care about them when there are eggs, chicken food and corn to eat.

So that wraps it up for today, why don’t you hop on over to 2 Brown Dawgs see what their up to and grab the badge and join the hopping fun!

  1. Thanks so much for participating in TNT.

Thanks so much for sharing the story of MK and Norman. It is a sweet story, but still makes me very sad. I am glad MK came along when she did. I hope Norman will have many good days to come.

That is a great picture of Gman and Glory. It looks posed.

Silly Nellie. I guess she found her snack. 🙂

    • Thank you so much for listening to me Linda before I went public with the news. Your a great chessie friend. MK is a doll and I am glad I have her, John on the other hand is not. lol Funny thing is, Nellie has been locked in there more times than I can count. I forget she sneaks in the pen and leave without checking.

  2. I did respond on facebook and I love how you are seeing MK as the blessing and life in this chapter of Norman’s story. I think your outlook on her is beautiful and yet, like Brown Dawgs it still makes me sad. I’m hoping there are many, many good days left for Norman.

  3. Hi Y’all!

My Human is like you. She believes things happen for a reason, often beyond our understanding…me? I’m too busy enjoying the moment to worry about the whys and wherefores.

    Y’all come by now,

  4. I’m so sorry about Norman. I had to stop reading cause my eyes teared up. We had a Lab that had liver cancer. I just hate the “C” word. MK is precious. So glad you have her to help you through this. Thinking about you and hoping Norman has many good days to come.
